The Installation
XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS PPF is computer-cut to exact vehicle specifications using XPEL's DAP (Design Access Program) database. Custom patterns mean edge-to-edge coverage with minimal bulk at panel seams.
Installation requires a covered or shaded location. We recommend garage installation for optimal film adhesion in South Florida's heat.
pH wash, iron remover, and clay bar before any film is applied. Contamination under PPF causes adhesion failure and visible texture. This step is non-negotiable.
Isopropyl alcohol wipe-down of all panels receiving film. Removes any remaining wax, polish residue, or oils that could affect bonding.
XPEL patterns from the DAP database are cut to your specific year, make, and model. Edge-to-edge coverage with wrapped edges where possible to prevent lifting.
Film applied with XPEL slip solution and squeegeed flat. All air and fluid pockets worked out from panel edges to center. Edges tucked and heat-bonded.
24-hour cure period required before washing. Full inspection under LED lighting for bubbles, lifted edges, or contaminant entrapment.

PPF is a physical urethane film that absorbs rock chips and scratches mechanically. Ceramic coating is a chemical bond on top of paint that adds hydrophobics and UV resistance. PPF protects against physical impact; ceramic does not. For maximum protection, apply ceramic coating over PPF.
