What Car Mold Removal Includes
This is not a car wash. We use Concrobium Mold Control, steam and extraction, a pH-balanced cleaning workflow and a professional ozone cycle in a sealed cabin, and we do it at your address.
Why it matters for your health: Mold in a vehicle is a different exposure than mold on a wall at home. With the AC recirculating, everyone inside is breathing concentrated spores for the length of the drive. The EPA and CDC both link mold exposure to respiratory irritation, allergic reactions, headaches, and worsened asthma symptoms. Children, older passengers, and anyone with a compromised immune system typically react faster and more severely than a healthy adult would. By the time the smell is noticeable, spores have usually already spread through the HVAC system into every vent in the cabin.

Before & After: Mold Removal We've Actually Done
No stock photos. These are real DShine mold removal jobs across South Florida, the same 11-step process and chemistry used on every appointment.
Before
AfterPorsche Cayenne — Door Panel & Armrest
Tan leather door panel and armrest with mold across the surface, next to the wood trim. Leather gets a leather-safe antimicrobial and gentle steam on the seams rather than hard scrubbing, followed by Concrobium and a sealed ozone cycle, so the finish is not stripped.
Before
AfterLeather Seat Bolster — Green-Blue Mold
Green-blue growth along the side bolster of a tan leather seat, the spot where clothing and skin rub in and out of the car. Colour like this tells us the colony has had moisture for a while. The same leather-safe protocol lifts it without damaging the hide.
Before
AfterCloth Bench Seat — Mold-Stain Residue
Lifting the cushion of a dark blue cloth bench shows tan and yellow stains underneath. That residue means moisture sat in the foam, not just on the fabric, so we steam and extract the cloth and foam, treat with Concrobium and close with ozone.
Before
AfterSteering Wheel, Dash & Vents — Grey-White Bloom
A grey-white bloom on the steering wheel, dashboard and air vents of a Ford sedan. Because vents are involved, spores can travel straight into the cabin air. We treat and decontaminate the vent surfaces and wheel, then use ozone to reach the ductwork.
Before
AfterCloth Driver Seat & Console — Grey-White Bloom
Grey-white growth on the black cloth driver seat, armrest and console, with grass visible outside the window. Dark cloth hides early mold until it turns powdery. HEPA vacuum first, then steam, extraction, Concrobium and ozone.
Before
AfterRear Seat & Door Panel — White Mold Spots
White spots on the rear cushion of a black sedan, with loose debris and a plate frame left on the seat. Back seats get checked the least and often hold damp items. Debris comes out with the HEPA vacuum, then steam, extraction and Concrobium.
Before
AfterBlack Cloth Seat — White Mold Speckles
Fine white speckles across a black cloth seat. Speckled growth like this is usually early and shallow, which is the easiest stage to treat. Steam, extraction and Concrobium handle the surface and ozone clears the spores from the air.
Before
AfterFloor Mat — Heavy Colony Growth
A carpeted floor mat with heavy black, brown and white colonies, typical of a floor that stayed wet for weeks. The pad underneath is usually affected too, so we lift the mat, extract carpet and pad, treat with Concrobium and finish with ozone.
100% Satisfaction.
Written. No exceptions.
If the result doesn’t meet our standard, or yours, we come back and redo it at no charge. No forms to fill out, no arguing over what “counts.” The guarantee is in writing before we ever touch your vehicle.

Everything you need to know
about car mold removal.
Tap any topic to read the full breakdown.
Mold needs moisture, a food source and time. A car interior supplies the second one for free: carpet, seat foam, headliner and dust are all organic enough to feed growth. What changes from car to car is the water.
The usual sources are a leaking door or window seal, a sunroof drain blocked by leaves and grit, an evaporator drain that clogged and wets the front floor, a window left down in a storm, a soaked towel or bag riding home in a closed cabin, and floodwater. South Florida adds a hot, humid climate on top: a shut cabin heated by afternoon sun and then cooled by a downpour pulls humid air in as it cools, and that moisture settles on glass, carpet and vinyl.
That is why the same car can be fine for weeks and then grow mold in a few days. Moisture matters more than the calendar.
The smell usually comes first: a musty, sour or swampy odor when you open the door, or a stale smell that blows out of the vents when the A/C starts. After that comes growth you can see, such as white fuzzy or powdery film on carpet, foam or the headliner, and dark green, grey or black spots on seats, door panels and leather.
Other clues are windows that fog easily, floor mats that never fully dry, damp carpet under the mats, and passengers who sneeze, get itchy eyes or a stuffy nose only when they ride in the car.
White growth tends to be early. Dark green or black growth usually points to a mature colony that has gone down into the foam. Either way, do not scrape or dry-wipe it, since that can spread spores around the cabin.
We price by how far the growth has travelled, not by the clock. If the mold is confined to a single zone, such as one seat, the driver-side footwell or the cargo carpet, the job is $549. If it has reached across the cabin, it is $749.
Both prices cover the same 11-step process and the same 30-day written guarantee, and travel is included. The tier only changes with how much of the car is affected.
Send a few photos and a line about what happened through the form on this page, and you will have a figure in under 2 minutes. The exact amount is confirmed from your photos, always before anyone picks up a tool. Booking online through the form takes $50 off, which the form shows as you pick your service.
Every job gets all 11 steps: a full inspection, HEPA vacuum, Benefect decontamination, deep clean, steam, extraction, drying, a Concrobium Mold Control application, a sealed ozone cycle, a Meguiar's odor bomb and a closing check. The inspection covers headliner, seats, carpet, door panels, trunk and vents, so the pockets you would never think to look at are not skipped.
Expect 3 to 4 hours on site. You do not need to stand by the car; we only need the address and any gate code or parking rule. Photos from before and after reach you on WhatsApp.
When the ozone generator stops, we open the doors and ventilate fully before anyone sits down. We tell you the car is ready when it actually is, not merely when the machine switches off.
If the smell hits you when the A/C starts, the problem is often past the surface. The evaporator behind the dash stays cold and wet, and when its drain clogs, moisture sits there and feeds growth that blows into the cabin every time the fan runs.
Wiping what you can see cannot reach that. Ozone is the step that travels through the HVAC paths, headliner and seat foam, breaking down spores and odor molecules where hand-applied products cannot. That is why we run a sealed ozone cycle on every job, and why no one sits in the car while it runs.
Running the A/C on fresh air for a few minutes before you park also helps clear the evaporator, though it will not undo mold that has already settled in.
Treatment destroys the colonies and the spores, but it cannot keep water out. If the leak or the habit that fed the mold stays, the damp conditions return. While we are on site we look for the likely source and tell you what we found.
Pull wet gear and towels out the same day, lift and dry the mats by hand, and air the cabin out. If you will be away for more than a week or two, empty the car, dry the floors and park where there is airflow instead of a sealed box. Fix seals and drains before the next storm, not after.
And if mold or mold odor shows up again within 30 days, the written guarantee covers a free re-treat.
Cloth and foam can be steamed and extracted, then treated with Concrobium. Dark cloth hides early growth until it turns powdery, so it is often found late.
Leather needs a gentler hand. Aggressive scrubbing or the wrong cleaner can strip a finish or dry the hide enough to crack. For leather we apply a leather-safe antimicrobial and let ozone handle airborne spores. If the leather has already cracked or discolored under mold, we will say so at the inspection; treatment stops the growth but cannot undo that damage.
The same honesty applies to a headliner that soaked through and sagged, or a seat that has been wet for months: some damage is permanent, and we would rather tell you early than surprise you halfway through.
Flooded Car Detailing is $349 and is a rapid response inside 72 hours of water entering, meant to stop mold before it starts. Car Mold Removal, $549 or $749 by extent, deals with mold that has already settled in, visible or only smelled.
Odor Removal Detailing is $349 and goes after persistent smells from food, drinks, smoke or bait when mold is not the issue. If you can see growth, or catch a musty note through the vents, that is the mold service.
When in doubt, send photos and we will tell you which one fits. Some cars need more than one, and we say so after looking.
