The honest no list
Skip the coating if you plan to sell or trade the car within a year — you will not recover the cost. Skip it if the clear coat is already peeling; a coating locks in whatever surface it is applied to, good or bad. And skip it if you expect a force field: chips, dents and deep scratches still happen. Do I still have to wash a coated car?
Yes — a coating is not a self-cleaning machine. What changes is the effort: dirt releases with low pressure, water sheets off, drying takes minutes, and waxing disappears from your routine entirely.
Does my car need paint correction before coating?
The $799 and $1,299 tiers include decontamination and prep, which suits paint in decent shape. Full correction comes only with the five-year Symplex package. If your paint is too far gone for the tier you want, we say so before you spend.
